The fall is upon us. I hope you have had a chance to enjoy our beautiful PYC. It has been a great summer. Sailing has been wonderful (though I think the number of cancelled races is a near record). The race committee has done a nice job of setting good courses and running efficient races. Thank you to Bill Zeigler for your leadership.

The Adult sailing classes and Junior sailing program both served their purposes well – exposing many to the joy of sailing. Thank you Matt Warner, Tad DeVilbiss and all the participating Coaches who spent their time helping these students learn to sail and exposing them to our wonderful PYC. For the Junior Program, thanks to Charlie Hess, Greg Harris, Jim Allen, Lynn Frikker, Ed Okorn, our fantastic lead instructor Eric Ellison and the great support of the Foundation board of directors. This program is a very valuable part of our club. Thank you all.

Sally Dishaw and the entertainment committee have put together some wonderful parties this year. Hopefully you were at our first annual full moon, moonlight race/ party extravaganza. The club was beautifully decorated, the sailing was fun and the company was great. (See pictures in the Telltales.)

The potlucks have been great of course, and our Meet the Associates Dinner was attended by over 50 people enjoying a great night of delicious food and fellowship.

The year is starting to wind down, but it is not over yet. PYCs marquee event – the Whitecap Regatta will be a blast. Kris Guccione and team will for sure organize a great event and party. Please be sure to participate. Even if you are not sailing, come down to our beautiful PYC and enjoy.

Once again the Detroit Country The Telltales are edited by John Morley. Please contact him if you have anything for the telltales at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Day School Sailboat Race team has contracted with us to use our club for their afternoon sailing/ race practices. This is a partnership that benefits the club and promotes the future of sailing. If I can be of assistance to you, if you have any questions or comments, please let me know. Hope you are able to enjoy the fall at our beautiful PYC.
