Just in case you missed it, here are some details and PICTURES of August 12th's MoonLight Cruise! First of all ,we need to give a great big THANK YOU to Josh Hervon!!! After much encouragement at July's Happy Hour, he graciously offered to be the "Fleet Captain" for the Cruise. ... and he proved to be an excellent, efficient, enthusiastic and entertaining Captain!!!! (Maybe he'll do it again next year!!!)

The group gathered at the Club House on a fabulous evening around 7:00. We enjoyed a few cocktails and some munchies, and after Josh and his crew explored the bay and the surrounding waters, the CRUISE began! Starting at 8:00 ish, the skippers rigged their boats, gathered their crew and set off ! We could have used a little more wind, but I think everybody had a great time! We had 5 Lightnings, a Hobie Cat, at least one Sunfish and a couple of kayaks sail out into a mostly cloudless night, to enjoy the full moon and peaceful sail. The Cruise proceeded without issue ... unless a boat got too close to the safety boat, as Josh and Ross Clark were armed with innocent squirt guns! After about an hour, the sailors returned to the Club House to enjoy yummy hors d’oeuvres and to share their MoonLight experiences!

During the evening, Fleet Captain Josh gave out awards (ie ribbons) to: the 1st place "winners" -- the boat skippered by our Commodore John Mathers, 2nd place -- the Matt Warner family, Mike and Jane Hecker (in the kayaks) received the "Greatest Start" award, and two boats shared the "Best Effort" award, Mark Goldman and his friend, Carrie, sailing a Hobie Cat, and Rick Dishaw and Wendy Wojciechowski, sailing a Sunfish! The camaraderie lasted till around 11:00, when all the tired sailors poured themselves into their cars, and went home!

I must thank all my Entertainment Committee Members, especially Jane Hecker (delicious Pigs-in-the -Blanket!), Cindy Ciura (decadent chocolatecovered Strawberries!), Cathy Burns (savory Swedish Meatballs!), Linda Kervokian (exquisite stuffed mushrooms!) and newmember Dr. Farnez Abhari (such a tempting fruit plate!) for all their hard work, encouragement and enthusiasm! ....and I think the jello shots and Christmas lights were a big hit, too!!! All in all, I think this MoonLight Cruise was a big success, and I hope to do it again next summer! Sincerely, Sally Dishaw Entertainment Committee.
